Ny rano: water supply

TEXT:

Velon-taraina ny mponina eny Ambohidrapeto. Tao anatin'ny dimy andro, tsy nandeha ny ranon'ny Jirama ary tsy mbola nisy tompon'andraikitra nijery izany hatramin'izao. Vokany, voatery matsaka any an-doharano ny mponina. Dia an-tongotra antsasakadiny anefa vao mahita loharano hatsakana. Manarama olona hatsaka ny tokantrano sasany ka vidina 600 Ar ny iray siny [raha Ar 200 no saran'ny rano isam-bolanaamin'ny paompy, na Ar 10 isaky ny eran’ny « seau » raha mpatsaka no maka azy]. Mandefitra avokoa ny sasa lamba indrindra ho an'ireo mpitaiza kely. Entina eny an-drenirano ny lamba kanefa tsy ara-pahasalamana izany rano hanasana ny lamban-jaza izany. Ny tena filàna toy ny handrahoana sakafo sy hidiovana mialoha ny handehanana hiasa sisa no tena vidina amin' izany rano 600 Ar izany ny iray siny. (...) Amin'ny alina sy vao maraim-be ihany no mandeha ny rano na ny eny amin'ny paompim-pokonolona na ny isan-tokantrano izany. (....)

Malagasy Bible Baiboly Malagasy: Dikan-teny Iombonana, Dikan-teny Protestanta

THE PROTESTANT AND THE INTERCONFESSIONAL BIBLE VERSIONS

A- Listen to the protestant version of Matthew chapter 1 / Matio toko voalohany: andininy faha 18-25 https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwDbOGaZ6bSPWnZ6X2JFVENwbUU/edit

MATIO 1: 18 Ary ny nahaterahan'i Jesosy Kristy dia toy izao: Rehefa nanaiky Maria, renin'i Jesosy, ho fofombadin'i Josefa, raha tsy mbola nivady izy, dia hita fa nitoe-jaza avy tamin'ny Fanahy Masina izy.
19 Ary Josefa vadiny, izay lehilahy marina sady tsy ta-hanala baraka azy, dia nikasa hametraka azy mangingina.
20 Fa raha mbola nisaina izany izy, indro, nisy anjelin'ny Tompo niseho taminy tamin'ny nofy ka nanao hoe: Ry Josefa, zanak'i Davida, aza matahotra hampakatra an'i Maria vadinao; fa ny Zaza ao an-kibony dia avy amin'ny Fanahy Masina,
21 ka hiteraka Zazalahy izy, ary ny anarany hataonao hoe Jesosy*; fa Izy no hamonjy ny olony ho afaka amin'ny fahotany.
22 Ary izany rehetra izany dia tonga mba hahatanteraka izay nampilazain'ny Tompo ny mpaminany* hoe:
23 Indro, ny virijina hitoe-jaza ka hiteraka zazalahy; Ary ny anarany hataon'ny olona hoe Imanoela (Isa. 7. 14), izany hoe, raha adika: Amintsika Andriamanitra.
24 Ary Josefa, rehefa nahatsiaro tamin'ny torimasony, dia nanao araka izay nandidian'ny anjelin'ny Tompo ary ka nampakatra ny vadiny.
25 Ary tsy nahalala azy izy mandra-piterany Zazalahy; ary ny anarany nataony hoe Jesosy.

B- Then listen to the Audio bible of the 'interconfessional version" of Matio 1, 18-25

18 - Toy izao ny nahaterahan’i Jesoa Kristy:
Efa fofombadin’i Josefa i Maria tamin’izay;
raha mbola tsy niray trano anefa izy roa,
dia hita fa nitoe-jaza i Maria, noho ny asan’ny Fanahy Masina.
19 -  Olona marina i Josefa vadiny,
ka tsy te-hanala baraka azy,
fa nikasa ny hametraka azy mangingina.
20 -  Raha mbola niheritreritra izany izy,
dia nisehoan’ny anjelin’ny Tompo tamin’ny nofy ka nolazainy hoe:
“Ry Josefa taranak’i Davida ô,
Aza matahotra hampiakatra ny an’i Maria vadinao.
Noho ny asan’ny Fanahy Masina tokoa no nampitoe-jaza azy,
21 -  ary hitera-dahy izy ka i Jesoa no anarana hiantsoany ny zaza.
Fa io zaza io no hamonjy ny vahoakany ho afaka amin’ny fahotany”.
22 -  Izany rehetra izany no tonga dia mba ho tanteraka ilay voalazan’ny
Tompo tamin’ny mpaminany hoe:
23 - “Indro hitoe-jaza ny virijiny ka hitera-dahy
Ary ny anarana hiantsoana ny zaza dia Imanoela”
Izany hoe: “ Miaraka amin-tsika Andriamanitra”
24 - Vao nifoha maraina i Josefa dia nanatontosa izay nandidian’ilay
anjelin’ny Tompo azy,
ka nampakatra an’i Maria vadiny.
25 -  Tsy niray tamin’i Maria i Josefa mandra-pahatera-dahy  an’i Maria,

ary Jesoa no anarana nomen’i  Josefa ny zaza.

Answers:

kiTAi - DOmy

VOAhirana - VItsika

RAhona - SOloMAso - FEhiKIbo

Remarks:

* The diphthongs in general, and here AI/OA are counted as one vowel though they are pronounced stronger on the first vowel

* domy is from domino

* voahirana is a compound word which is no more counted as compound voa+(h)irana: h is not pronounced /vô'ir'an/

* solomaso comes from solo (substitution) and maso (eyes) so it has two stresses

* fehikibo comes from fehy (to tie) and kibo (belly)

Malagasy stress accent :

Listen and tick in the box where the stress accent is placed

ADIM-PIAINANA (ady ny fiainana): life is a struggle

Nono is a Malagasy singer who told the truth about life in Madagascar: he sang that life is hard, and so it has an influence on the couple, or family lives.

watch the video here  https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=R7JfV2rQ-oc

Hoy ianao

Hoy ianao :
Ny fiainana tsy vita moramora
Fa mihasarotra isan'andro, isan'andro
Isan'ora!
Fa na dia hisy aza izany na tsy hisy,
Ny omaly ihany no mbola androany
Tsy ampiampy foana ny ato an-trano... ny ato an-trano...

Hoy Ianao :
Mbola ho hitantsika ny hasambarana!
Mba efa sasa-niandry aho
Tsy mbola hitako nanarangarana
Fa na dia hisy aza izany na tsy hisy,
Ny omaly ihany no mbola androany
Tsy zarizary aky fa mankarary... mankarary...

(music)

Hoy Ianao :
Hiezaka aho hanao ny mety
Mba hamerenana indray ny lohataona
Vetivety!
Fa na dia hisy aza izany na tsy hisy,
Ny omaly ihany no mbola androany
Manahy mafy aho, mangatsiaka aho...mangatsiaka aho...

The prayer of the Lord: Ny vavaky ny Tompo

Rainay izay any an-danitra
Ho hamasinina anie ny anaranao
Ho tonga anie ny fanjakanao
Hatao anie ny sitraponao
Ety an-tany tahaka ny any an-danitra
Omeo anay anio ny hanina sahaza ho anay
Ary mamela ny helokay
Tahaka ny namelanay izay meloka taminay
Ary aza mitondra anay ho amin'ny fakam-panahy
Fa manafaha anay amin'ny ratsy
Fa anao ny fanjakana sy ny hery
ary ny voninahitra mandrakizay
Amena.

Mpanjaitra an-tsena: zaitra an-tsena

Up to now, Malagasy people buy pieces of cloths by meters and give them to the taylor to sew.On the one hand, there are qualified taylors in their particular houses, clients come to their houses to get clothes done.
On the other hand, the market taylors (mpanjaitra an-tsena) make "zaitra an-tsena" (which is synonym of badly sewn clothes), they make ready-to-wear clothes in the open markets which are highly despised, because they rarely fit, and they are reputed to be quickly sewn, so the seam of the clothes comes undone quickly. The fabrics are usually coarse, and often of bad color matches. Their job consists in sewing pupils' uniforms, for example, for 2500 ar to 4000 ar, to sew house linen, like curtains, table cloths, to shorten trousers, so on.
